My First Act With This New Blog

Okay, um, I'm just gonna say it. I'm gay.

If you gasped, you're probably not good with remembering where you left your car keys.

You might be wondering why I just did that. It's probably a stupid move. Well, there's really no reason beyond that I just wanted to say it. To be truthful, I guess. Plus, the act itself is nothing weighed against what it means... right?

Listen. I've known since I was 10 that I liked other boys. I never really thought of it as a big deal, naively, but as time went on, it became harder and harder to bear. And I always felt I had an excuse -- that I was bi, and not gay, so that made it less bad. But you have to face facts, and a couple months ago, I did. For the first time, I admitted to myself that I was gay. It was tough to say, and I cried myself to sleep that night, but I don't regret it whatsoever. Things have seemed to get better, almost easier, because I removed that weight from my mind. I'm not even close to coming out in RL though. I'm 15, not a wizard.

Okay, that heartfelt emoting was nice and all, but let's get back to my regular diet of concerning passive-aggressivism. Some extremely shallow reasons why I'm gay:

-- Moulin Rouge! is in my personal top ten.
-- I'm deeply in love with James McAvoy.
-- Some of my earliest memories involve Britney Jean Spears-Alexander-Federline, whom I've been a fan of since I was six.
-- I'm an extremely strong actressexual.
-- I secretly love Madonna and the color pink.
-- The A*Teens might be my favorite band.
-- I love High School Musical. And I'm anticipating the 3rd one with masochistic gusto.
-- Legendary auteurs are always gay.
-- I champion Billy Elliot WAY too much.
-- I am sexually attracted to males.
-- I have a cat.

But I digress.

To the point: I'm a 15 year-old boy who happens to be gay, have a blog and love movies. Okay? Cool. I really hope I still have readers after this insane attempt at being open with myself...

I love that you can be so open. You rock.

I love Moulin Rouge.
I have memories of Britney Spears.
I am an actressexual too.
I enjoy High School Musical, but not the second one that much.
I like legendary auteurs.
I LOVE BILLY ELLIOT MORE THAN ANYTHING, sort of.

I have a blog and love movies.

Yay me, and you for being so honest :)

J.D., you'll never lose me as a reader :)

I admire your balls in just opening up yourself in this way. You're like Kelly Clarkson saying "fuck you" to everyone and releasing My December.

I'm an actressexual as well.
I can't wait for HSM3 either.
I heart legendary auteurs.
I'm Britney OBSESSED. I love her crazy, sane, fat, thin, bald, with hair, married, single, celibate, screwing every guy in California.

Hehe, thanks James. :)

I love My December, but I hope I still have a career after this. ;)

HSM3 is going to suck, we both know this. But I love the first one SO DAMN MUCH, even if the sequel was evil. I CAN'T HELP MYSELF.

Britney is love, man. Pure, crazy love. I still wish her some stability.

Anyway..

Thanks for being open and honest and all. Great to hear your finding answers..within yourself, I suppose.

By the way, Moulin Rouge is one of my favorites.

Be who you are and you'll be all right. It's okay to be gay and if you find out later you may not be, then that's okay too. We're all with you dude, what ever way you go.

It's great that you've taken a very bold and impressive step. Glad to hear you feel a bit better after doing it also.

Being a few years older, I missed the boat with Britney and high School Musical, but I can completely relate to Moulin Rouge and being an actressexual.

Anytime you want to talk movies.....

I'm so proud of you, dear j.d. Now is clearly the time to be a gay 15-year-old with a new blog. The corner has widened into a valley, and all is good.

I currently have a vacancy for a new gay best friend, but you're a bit young for me, and we've got those painful months of animosity hanging over us.

Watching Moulin Rouge in the cinema made my stomach implode, and I missed the last 15 mins as I had to stop watching the swirly screen. Oh well.

Well, even if I can't be your new gay best friend, I'd like to be your friend. I don't even remember why we hated each other (or was it just me towards you?) anymore. Truce?

"I'm 15, not a wizard."

I love that quote.

And the difference between JD and Clarkson is that JDs blog is sure to be awesome, whereas Kelly's My December was pure shite. :)

And, yay, etc

LOL, you never fail to make me giggly, Glenn. :)

James McAvoy, even as a slightly creepy faun, is PURE SEX. Excuse me now while I swoon.

Thank you, everyone. :)

Richard, I know, right???

j.d., I totally didn't realize you had moved things to a new blog, so forgive my coming super-duper late to this party. Anyway, this post made me smile, and I'm so happy to know you're accepting/celebrating this about yourself. It's a first step but a big one. Proud of you, kid. Bookmarking the new blog.

And I'm even lamer/later.

Anyway, you rock no matter whether you're liking boys or girls. I am glad, however, that you've realized, as the best of us have, that boys are where it's at. ;-)

J.D. said...

Thank you, both of you. :)

And yes, boys really are where it's at. Ah, it feels so good to say that!

I love your honesty. I am a committed actressexual myself, LOVE Moulin Rouge (I threatened to repeatedly beat a friend of mine who told me she hadn't seen it ater three years of me being acquainted with her). Oh, and I too am *gasp* sexually attracted to boys AND am starting a film blog. I don't think I have to mention how proud I am of joining the company of such steemed people as the ones commenting above me (yes James, I'm talking to you). Keep up the good work J.D.

Awww, that's awesome Roly, thank you. :)
