For the new Movie Of The Month series @ The LAMB, I had to watch The Big Lebowski, which I did. Ridiculously awesome movie. Of course (duh), I thought Julianne Moore was the best part. ACTRESSEXUAL. But... in typical fashion, I forgot that I had to review the film by yesterday. In fact, I only remembered it this morning when I was at Marcy's blog, LOL! I'll be more responsible with The Conversation next month, promise.BTW, the movie I submitted was Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. (I think I just broke a record for being so consistently unsurprising!) I really hope it gets picked eventually, because it's definitely a film everyone should see. Plus, she's now officially the patron saint of Valley Dreamin' -- which is very unsubtly inspired by her. I'm fanatical.
One day, my love, everyone will know your greatness! One day!

The Big Lebowski rocks, does it not?! So glad you enjoyed it.
If they pick "Valley of the Wind" sometime J.D. - that will be the day I participate in Movie of the Month. Or when I remember to, lol. I forgot all about it, as usual, my head is/was all over the place.
Still my favorite Coen Brothers movie.
Moore is stunning as always, even though I didn't dig her character too much in the film.
I'm watching Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind very soon. I'm expecting greatness, J.D. :)
Maude would be fun at parties.
And OMG Marcy!!! Please don't set your expectations too high -- I completely recognize that I'm the only person who loves it as much as I do, and I scream it from the mountaintops more than I breathe.
What are your Os on other Ghiblis you've seen?
I loved Spirited Away and liked My Neighbor Totoro. It's been a while since I've seen the latter.
I only saw Totoro like two weeks ago (*shame*), and it's totally adorable. But I seem to prefer when Miyazaki is darker and has a deeper message, because that and Kiki's Delivery Service (two insanely slight movies) are my two lowest-rated films of his. Huh.
Let me just say that Julianne Moore should have been nominated for an Oscar for The Big Lebowski. Such a hilarious performance.
Spirited Away is Miyazaki's masterpiece, but I can't help loving Castle in the Sky. I watched it in my Japanese class and I fell in love with it immediately. That grandma with the pink hair is amazing!
I like My Neighbor Totoro as well, but the best part is that crazy song during the opening credits.
