Nicole Kidman Hates Australia

And I just died a lot inside.
"I can't look at this movie and be proud of what I've done," Kidman, 41, told Sydney radio station 2dayFM.

At the Sydney premiere of the Baz Luhrmann-directed epic, "I sat there, and I looked at Keith [Urban] and went, 'Am I any good in this movie?'" she said.

She went on to say that she only went to the film's premiere to support her director. "I don't usually see my films, but because of Baz I had to see it," she said. "I saw Moulin Rouge. I've really only seen that and this in my whole career. It gets worse as I get older."
I'm convinced that I'm the only person on earth who unapologetically loves Australia. It's a gigantic mess, yeah, but I was completely under it's spell the entire way through. I really am the only one, apparently. :(

Ugh. I am so freaking disheartened right now.

ETA: Okay, so everybody took this way out of context. LMAO.

Awwwwwww, Misch! You're way too sweet. <3

They all, um, helped me, but if I had to choose one, the fourth from the bottom helped the most. ;)

I loved Australia too! Messy? Yes. But it completely bewitched me.

And Nicole, if you're reading, I thought you were fabulous! One of your best performances!

It (sorta) was! Even though her performance is one of the couple aspects that aren't aging well in my mind, her warmth was really surprising, and she knew how to pull heartstrings, yo.

I liked it almost as much as you did. I don't think Nicole hates teh movie just watching herself on screen. I hate hearing my voice on my answering machine (not that that's the same thing, but you know).

Well just don't be.
Some people actually like being the only ones who support some things (like Republicans).
But with "Australia" you're not on your own, heck go read my review if you don't believe me.

J.D. said...

@Jess: I know she's insecure about that, and rarely sees her own work, but it's apparent that she just didn't like the film?

@Jose: *goes to read your review*

*comes back*

Love love love love love.
